While visiting us why not take a better look around the area? Around Talgarth are some of the most beautiful, yet undiscovered, places in the country. The area is steeped in agricultural tradition, Talgarth being described as a 'hill farmers town'. Despite its size, the town has important historical links with healthcare, once having two hospitals and being home to the Mid and West Wales College of Nursing and Midwifery, as well as being home the local NHS Health Board headquarters. It has been a centre of trade and commerce in livestock and agriculture since its early days and still has a working livestock market. The town was once famous for its large horse fairs and was a borough from the 1300s.
